Next week, it's time to Tune Up again! Join us as we gather Monday June 29th at 7pm! 🔗to register: https://forms.gle/bCtfFq5DQXfaiJ6Y7

In music, tuning up is a place to begin, to ensure that each voice is being heard, reflected, shared, and amplified among a group. Tuning up creates a foundation on which we build harmony and encourage each voice to contribute something unique that ultimately adds beauty and interest to the music.

In this group, moms have the opportunity to "Tune Up" with other moms and engage with music in a supportive and welcoming space. Good chats and light snacks provided. No music experience is necessary.

Here's what folks are saying about Tune Up! 🎻
🎤 "I loved the meeting space, delicious snacks, and friendly conversations. And of course the singing!"
🎤 "What I liked best was trying something outside my comfort zone in a warm and supportive setting.

Happy Juneteenth!

While this year marks the 5th year in which Juneteenth has been considered a federal holiday in the United States, Juneteenth has an important history and has been celebrated since the mid-to-late 19th century. Juneteenth, or Jubilee Day, marks the day in 1865 in which Union soldiers announced the freedom of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas following the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. Word of the emancipation of enslaved peoples in America occurred progressively in the years following the declarations made in the proclamation, and although Juneteenth is a day specific to the enslaved individuals in Texas, it symbolically represents the freedom of African Americans from slavery at large. Juneteenth marks the hope of Black Americans to live autonomous lives of abundance, community, joy, and rest.

The promise of true freedom and equity for Black Americans remains a hope that requires continual tending to; however, Juneteenth provides us with a delineated time to celebrate the rich experiences of African Americans and honor the strength and courage of such ancestors.
