Port de Bras: The Gateway to Artistry — Coming to BodySpan This May
This May, BodySpan Studio is thrilled to host Alicia Head, creator of The Inner Life of Ballet™, for her transformative course “Port de Bras — The Gateway to Artistry.”
Rooted in an integration of rehabilitation, cross-training, and conditioning modalities, this workshop introduces a way of working that blends anatomical clarity with energetic freedom. Port de bras isn’t just about arm positions—it’s a gateway to artistry, offering support for every aspect of technique and helping dancers move with greater ease, expression, and sustainability.
Alicia’s work is a new approach to ballet—one that honors dance medicine, embraces all body types, and replaces “old school” hierarchy with empowerment, information, and intelligent movement principles. Her teaching helps dancers and educators develop technique from the inside out, cultivating self-correction, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how breath, energy, and connectivity shape the lines of ballet.
