Two Ponds Preservation Foundation

Our Story

Since 1990, the Two Ponds Preservation Foundation has been dedicated to to preserving the Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge's wetlands and natural habitat. Our foundation's vision is to enrich lives and inspire wonder by providing an urban oasis for members of our extended community to learn about and fully experience our natural habitat.

Through our partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, we help oversee many activities for Metro Denver youth and residents to enable an immersive environmental education experience to foster a lifelong love of nature.

In 2016, we launched a capital campaign to build the Education Pavilion at Two Ponds, an onsite environmental education structure that will provide seating and protection from the outdoor elements. It will allow the U.S. Fish and Wildlife to offer year-round access to schoolchildren, Boy and Girl Scout troops, nature lovers and residents.

Two Ponds is part of the Rocky Mountain Greenway Trail, a regional trail development project designed to complete connections between the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Two Ponds and Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuges. The Education Pavilion at Two Ponds will better connect Metro Denver to the National Wildlife Refuge System!
