As bicycle and e-bike use continues to grow throughout our community, the Ashtabula Police Department would like to remind riders of some important safety laws and tips.

Whether you're riding a traditional bicycle or an e-bike, understanding the rules of the road helps keep everyone safe. Riders should obey traffic laws (stop signs, traffic lights, and riding on the right-hand side of the roadway), use proper lighting after dark, and always operate their bicycles in a safe and responsible manner.

As we celebrate the warm weather and summer holidays, the Ashtabula Police Department would like to remind residents that while Ohio law permits certain consumer fireworks, City of Ashtabula ordinance prohibits the discharge of fireworks within city limits except for properly permitted public displays.

The Ashtabula Police Department will be closing our current lateral transfer process on May 5th.
