Pets cannot cool themselves as we do. Dogs primarily cool off by panting, but this isn't always enough in high temperatures or humidity.

🚨 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝘀
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Weakness or collapse
• Bright red gums
• Confusion or unresponsiveness

Heatstroke can escalate quickly and requires 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲.

🐶🐱 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲
💧 Always provide fresh water and shade
🚶 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked car
🐾 Check pavement before walks to prevent burns
🏡 Keep pets indoors during extreme heat
