Peachfork Studios

Yesterday, Peachfork Studios hosted the executive director of Passion Works, as well as contributing songwriters and performers. Together, we are listening to a brand new album! This album features Passion Works poets and their poetry, put to song, by songwriters from the Athens Ohio community.

This week, Eden MacAdam-Somer will be recording. Eden is Co-Chair of the Department of Contemporary Musical Arts at the New England Conservatory of Music (Boston). She will joined by our very own Mark Hellenberg and renowned multi instrumentalist, Sam Bartlett. Also, we are excited to welcome back, Drawknife later in the week. Drawknife is a modern folk duo based out of Athens, Ohio. Hopefully I’ll remember to post photos

Yesterday we recorded a Ranat. What is a Ranat? It’s a Thai traditional xylophone. This instrument sounds amazing, with a beautiful tone. The bamboo bars are suspended by cords over a boat-shaped trough resonator.
