A great group of novice paddlers journeyed with Georgia Rivers on the Etowah River this weekend during our "Learn-To-Kayak" adventure led by ACA kayaking instructors Janina Edwards, Mike Henry, Lisa George and Malaysia Marshall. While most Georgia Rivers paddle trips are suitable for beginners and novices, we will be hosting more "learn-to-kayak" trips in the future. Georgia Rivers had the pleasure of leading a group of teens participating in the Refugee Womens Network on a paddle trip on the Yellow River this week. The RWN summer program is designed to provide outdoor experiences for children of refugee/immigrant families. It was a tired bunch of girls at the end of a 6.5-mile journey...but it was a good kind of tired. Georgia Rivers offers scholarships to women, people of color, recent immigrants and low-income individuals and families to participate in our paddle trips.
