ACS CELEBRATES AMERICA 250 Athens City Schools is proud to join communities across Alabama in celebrating America 250, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This historic milestone gives our students a meaningful opportunity to honor our nation’s past, reflect on the values that unite us, and look toward the future as engaged citizens, leaders, and lifelong learners.

WEAR 🔴⚪🔵 We invite our family to help us showcase our patriotic spirit on THURSDAY, JUNE 11! Share your photos, videos, artwork, messages, and other patriotic creations by scanning the QR code or tagging us on Facebook and Instagram. We’d love to see your celebration themes, including freedom, gratitude, service, school spirit, community pride, honoring those who serve, and more.

We are excited for our students, staff, and families to celebrate this special occasion together as we honor America’s story and the spirit of our nation. ☀️ SUN BUCKS This summer, eligible school-age children in Alabama can receive $120 in grocery benefits through the Alabama SUN Bucks program. Each eligible child will receive a one-time, preloaded SUN Bucks card that can be used to purchase groceries, helping families provide nutritious meals while school is out.

📢SIGN UP FOR K-8 BUS SERVICE 🚍 If you need bus service for your K-8th student this fall, you must sign up through Returning Student Registration (Re-Enrollment). Learn more at acs-k12.org/reenrollment. Please check your primary email for a snapcode from PowerSchool Registration Support and follow the instructions provided. Families will receive a separate snapcode email for each currently enrolled student. Please note, you must upload the following documents during the re-enrollment process: proof of residence and parent/guardian driver’s license or ID. Updated immunization required for rising 6th grade students. If you did not receive your snapcode or have any questions, please contact 256.233.6600 or stop by ACS Central Office. Reminder that bus service is not available for Athens High School or Athens Renaissance School students. Re-enroll by Thursday, June 18!
