Athens County Children Services

Stop by the Athens Wal-Mart this weekend and help fill the bus with school supplies for Athens County children!

We had a wonderful time out at the fireworks Saturday put on by The Plains Volunteer Fire Department. We loved painting so many faces and having a fun stress ball craft for the kiddos to do. There were so many people and the rain held off so we had a great all around time!

Thank you to everyone who helped put on a fun evening for our community!

We will be out today for our PBJ distribution and the rain should be holding off. Come on out and get some peanut butter, jelly, fresh bread, and fresh produce!

We want to give another huge shoutout to Snowville Creamery for donating fresh milk each week of the PBJ Project that we give out at all five of our locations.

A huge thank you as well to TRC Companies, Inc. for their generous donation of several hundred jars of peanut butter and jelly! This project relies on our friends in the community and we thank all our supporters for their kind donations.

We will be out there today and every other Thursday in June and July so come on out and see us!

We had such a wonderful time taking part in planning and presenting at this great event! It was special to see so many agencies and groups in Athens County willing to come together and discuss some of the biggest issues affecting children and families in our community.

Deputy Director Wendy Shields and Athens County Family and Children First Council Coordinator Amy Jenkins moderated some great panels for us and the discussion was lively.

Thank you to all who came out to the 2026 Athens County Youth Summit and we can't wait until next year's event!
