The Genio® system is designed to help keep the airway open during sleep through gentle nerve stimulation and offers several patient-centered benefits, including a battery-free implant design, smartphone-controlled comfort settings, MRI compatibility, and more.

Congratulations to Dr. Keith Hill, Dr. Paul Papajohn, and our outstanding surgical team on successfully completing the first Genio® procedure in North Alabama and expanding access to advanced sleep apnea care close to home.

After 32 years of dedicated service, Joyce is retiring from Athens-Limestone Hospital. Throughout her career, she served in a variety of roles within our Environmental Services Department, including Environmental Services Aide and Environmental Services Supervisor.

Joyce played a vital role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and safety that our patients, visitors, and staff depend on every day. Her commitment, hard work, and attention to detail helped create a welcoming environment for staff, patients, families, and guests.

We are grateful for Joyce's many years of service and the positive impact she has made on our hospital and community. While she will be greatly missed, we wish her all the best as she begins this well-deserved new chapter.
