Athens Academy

One of our favorite football traditions is service day. Earlier this week the team and their coaches spread out across our community to lend a hand at City of Refuge, Downtown Academy, ESP, the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, Lydia's Place, and Project Safe.

From moving furniture and pressure washing to landscaping, painting, and plenty of heavy lifting, these Spartans put their strength and energy to work serving others—and they're not afraid to get a little hot, sweaty, and dirty in order to help out.

We're proud of the way they represent Athens Academy both on and off the field. A big thank you to the organizations that welcomed our Spartans this week. Here's to a season of hard work, teamwork, and making a difference. Go Spartans!

There's no place like camp!

After a week of rehearsing, creating costumes and props, learning lines, and discovering what goes into bringing a production to life, our Little Characters theater campers took the stage this morning for a precious performance of "The Wizard of Oz" for family and friends.

Three generations of Athens Academy leadership, with a shared commitment to our outstanding school.

Just before the holiday, Head of School Jeff Miles had the opportunity to spend time with John Thorsen, who faithfully led Athens Academy for the past 12 years, and Bob Chambers, whose 30-year tenure helped shape the school for generations of Spartans.

As only the fifth head of school in Athens Academy's 60-year history, Mr. Miles is honored to build on this strong foundation. We're grateful for the legacy of leadership that continues to guide our community, and we’re excited for all that's ahead.
