Just sharing a few beers that have been released in Georgia in the past few days to a week or so. Check with the brewery about taproom (or distro) availability before heading over.

🍺SHARP END | Contrast Artisan Ales | 7.4% Hazy IPA

The Contrast folks are pushing hazies to new places as Sharp End features Lotus and a brand new hop varietal called Alora, which combined give expressive notes of pineapple, papaya, and peach.

🍺A NIGHT IN BRUSSELS | Three Taverns Brewery | 7.9% Belgian IPA

I was today years old when I learned Three Taverns' launched in 2013 with this beer as a flagship, and later developed A Night OnPonce. It returned to both taprooms this week for a limited time.

🍺BIG CASINO | Variant Brewing Company x Two Tides Brewing Company | 5% Gose

One of the best goses around is from Variant (all hail their Raspberry Lemon Gose), and no one does sours like Two Tides in Savannah. Makes perfect sense for these two to collab on a fruited sour with ube, mango, toasted coconut, and granola. I had to look it up, so let me save you some time... a purple ube is a yam that often has "sweet and nutty flavors with hints of vanilla."

🍺RIPPLE | Two Tides Brewing Company | 7% Hazy IPA

You already know I'm a fan of Two Tides' sours, and their hazy game is fire, too. This one features Galaxy, Motueka, and Citra hops and utilizes oats in the grain bill. You're gonna get citrus and passionfruit here.

It's always stout season, and even if that weren't true, January is definitely stout season. That said, and with apologies, here are four very hop-inspired beers to be on the lookout for this weekend and into next week.

SIMULATED REALITY | Variant Brewing Company x Inner Voice collab | 8.5% Hazy IPA

When Variant and Inner Voice get together to make beer, good things happen. This juice bomb is just another example. Expect tropical, expect citrus from this beer that was "designed to deliver an intense and multi-layered hop experience." Hops: Phantasm, Citra, Citra Incognito, Motueka, Idaho 7 Cryo

HELIX | Inner Voice Brewing | 6% Hazy IPA

Helix is a fan favorite. It's tropical, soft, and fluffy thanks to additions of both wheat and oats to go along with a dry hop addition. Hops: Citra, Nelson Sauvin

LOW TURBULENCE | Round Trip Brewing | 1.8% West Coast Pilsner

West Coast pilsners are to new rave right now. I'm enjoying the heck out of them right now, so that alone caught my eye. Add in the fact this is 1.8% ABV and it's a must-try for me. "It delivers bright citrus and tropical fruit aromas with a whisper of white wine notes and a clean, dry finish." Hops: Nelson Sauvin

GLOBAL WARMING | Local Ties Brewing Company | 7% Cold IPA

Continuing the Kiwi theme, Global Warming is made with only hops from New Zealand. You'll get "tons of berries, grapes, and a slight earthy spice to the palate." Hops: Pacific Jade, Motueka, Nelson Sauvin

Sometimes you walk into a place and every beer hits just right. I stopped at Barleygarden Kitchen & Craft Bar Avalon today and there 13 IPAs on tap, and some really good ones at that. I had three:

Variant does a lot of things superbly, almost everything actually. I'm a huge fan of their hazy pale ales. I loved Cloud Forager, for sure. Load Bearing Friend also comes to mind. Looking forward to checking Dream Dagger out.
