"Night of Long Revels - This Holiday is observed by travelers of all sorts, particularly Sailors and Caravan Teamsters. It is time when the heat of the sun beats everyone down, however, the days have just started becoming longer which means more rest has begun for those that wander.
It is celebrated by a great feast followed by tavern games and drinking, a Lighting of small paper boats with candles is often done by children and adults alike to celebrate before the festivities fully get into swing.
The Dead are a bit more restless because the night is when they operate and they are ready for the length of them to become longer. They may become more aggressive some scholars say.
Adventures often make midnight runs into dangerous areas as a sign of daring after losing or winning in gambles riding high on their wins or out of desperation of their losses.
Gwillian Annwn and Calliope are venerated as they deal with wandering and travel. Many road side shrines are decorated in homage to them."

Long Awaited Royal Bruin Wedding to Take Place This Saturday in Harrowdale

Prince Lochan of Dringah and Princess Orla of Loughglinn make a second attempt to unite the two main Bruin factions

By Rita Ragland

Bruins the world over rejoice as their best hope at unification in hundreds of years finally draws close, once again. After the tragic attack over a year ago during their first attempted wedding ceremony drove the Duke of Loughglinn and his family into hiding, the royal couple, now reunified though a year further apart in age, are still willing to give it another go at getting married.

Prince Lochan managed to stay faithful to his then-proclaimed-dead fiancee during his year alone, a feat which itself suggest he must either really be in love with Princess Orla or that his goal to be the first true king of a unified Bruin state in nearly a thousand years is his only motivation.

Yes, that's right; while the two rulers of the Bruin states are called 'kings' by courtesy, they both acknowledge their real title is merely Duke. While there are many factions seeking to rise to the level of King of the Bruins, and both Dukes and their fathers have at times subtlety, and at times not so subtlety, declared themselves the one true king of the Bruins, it seems only by uniting these two families, who have traditionally been more often at war than at peace, can true leader of all the Bruin peoples be crowned.

Of course, while Prince Lochan will become the heir of both Duchies through this marriage, he won't inherit either title till the current Dukes pass on. How the Princess feels about this requirement is currently under much speculation. Of course, being the first One True Queen in a thousand years also has its allures, I'm sure.

As for the wedding itself, it is sure to be a wild affair. The Bruin, always a folks steeped in tradition and touchy about their personal honor, family honor, and clan honor, and the ceremonies behind it all, will have to make sure the wedding goes just so to prevent the various Bruin factions from seeing any bad omens or dire portents therein should some detail be overlooked. How all the various requirements and traditions, both in dress and ceremony, can been seen to while the Bruin island is held in enemy hands is anyone's guess, but the royal couple seems bent on getting hitched as soon as possible, come what may.

This all ignors the threat of a second attempt on the Princess's life; assassins guilds don't take missing their marks lightly. Will they count killing her once as their contract fulfilled? Will they strike again between now and 'I do'? Is there anything that can be done to stop this group of dedicated professionals?

Rumors will keep flying, I'm sure, and yours truly will be here to report on them all, so be sure to pick up the next edition of the Herald.

Treachery In Loughglinn!

Lord Patrick Phayne, Former First Assistant to Lord Devon Benentt, Seneschal of Loughglinn, Opens Gates and Welcomes Tian Invaders

By Staff writers

With the Bruin Civil War now shown to be caused by a critical lack of information of the King of Loughglinn's true whereabouts, it seems no coincidence that the source of this misinformation for both sides, the former Lord Phayne, now purports to call himself Governor General of Loughglinn. This purposefully misdirection and intentional agitation of both sides of the civil war seems to have been planned from the beginning to weaken the Bruin states and to allow the former lords allies in the Golden Fang, the organized crime syndicate whose assassins recently have begun to assert an unprecedented level of control over the Imperial Government of Tian, to conquer the Bruin Island.

The war stripped the Bruin island of nearly all garrison troops. Evenso, the treacherous lord ordered the gates opened and the invaders welcomed as guests. Before any one knew what had happened, armsmen of the Golden Fang were stationed in the gatehouses and watchtowers, and their flags were flying over the keep.

Drinagah, on the other hand, still resisted the Golden Fang invaders that struck there, skeleton garrisons notwithstanding. The fighting was generally pretty one sided, but required the invaders to take forts and walls one at a time, the native Bruins not giving an inch without a fight. These two attacks seemed to have been coordinated to the hour, and make it quite clear that the historically introverted Tian Empire is ready, willing, and able to aggressively look outside its borders for future expansion.

The Bruin armies, now peacefully unified under the leadership of Prince Lochan of Dringah, have assembled and been resupplied by their allies in Harrowdale and now stand ready to take the fight back to their island. This has both reinvigorated the Bruin ranks and been a huge source of relief to rulers throughout the continent. Even now the ships are sailing towards the Bruin isle.

The forts along the Bruin islands, isislands not known for their overabundance of laudable port locations, stand as a bulwark in the way of any landing of the Bruin Army and will be the first obstacle in the way of any invasion force ferried from Harrowdale. It's seems a great number of casualties could be expected in the coming confrontation.
