Senior spotlight, presenting ✨Dr. Krysten Mayers-Mendoza, MD✨

• What’s next after residency? - What’s next after residency? Dr. Mayers-Mendoza will be starting her 3-year pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles!

• What will you miss the most about residency? - What I’ll miss the most are my co-residents because they became family. We leaned on each other for help and offered guidance in a way where we were continuously learning from
our experiences.

• Any advice for the incoming interns? - You’ll never grow if you don’t step out of your comfort zone so don’t be afraid to present at that conference, or speak in front of an auditorium of people, or talk to an attending about a research opportunity, or volunteer in the community. You may surprise yourself.

• What’s next after residency? - After graduating residency I will be staying on as Chief Resident with MSM!

• What will you miss the most about residency? - I will miss hanging out with my co-residents. I love my girls, and I can’t wait to see all they accomplish 🫶🏾

• Any advice for the incoming interns? - My advice to the incoming residents is to know it’s okay to not know something—you’re here to learn. You’re in the best place to become an amazing pediatric physician!

• What’s next after residency? - Dr. Tiller will join Emory University as NICU Hospitalist.
• What will you miss the most about residency? - My Morehouse family! My co-residents especially!
• Any advice for the incoming interns? Don’t be afraid to advocate for your patients, your co-residents and yourself.
