My exercise plans help time-conscious professionals hit their strength and weight loss goals faster

So which is the magic diet? Low carb? Low Fat? Keto, Mediterranean, intermittent fasting?

Its none of them, there is no magic... And if that sounds like bad news to you, consider this...

The only "secret" to weight loss and weight gain from your nutrition plan is ENERGY BALANCE. Consider the various commercialized diets to be strategies or game plans to execute your overall energy balance goals. Energy balance means calories consumed vs calories burned.

If we are looking to lose weight then we need a 300-500 net negative energy balance. And if we need to gain weight then we want to see a 300-500 positive energy balance. Why not more than 500 for a negative energy balance? Any greater calorie deficient has proven to be very hard to adhere to...and even the best nutritional plan in the world will not work if the client cannot stick to it.

So, if you are looking to gain or lose weight, rejoice in this. No macronutrients (carbs, fats, protein) are evil and there is no need for extreme limitations in any one category. Identify the best nutrition plan for you through a process of identifying your individual energy (caloric) needs, track your calorie intake and expenditure (and macros - carbs, fats, and proteins if you're an overachiever).

If that sounds daunting, then reach out to me. Its a simple process, I promise and I'm happy to walk you through it. I can put you on a plan that has you in a safe and manageable calorie balance as well as to get you into optimal macronutrient distributions (proportion of carbs, fats, protein). I can show you how to track intake and expenditure and speak to the pros and cons of various strategies to implement your energy balance. Together, we'll get you where you want to be!

Randomized, Controlled Trial supports the use of Adaptive Resistance eXercise (ARX) for greater strength improvement, cardiovascular improvement, and fat loss. Link to full article in comments and a summary below…

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare muscular fitness, and cardiorespiratory fitness outcomes between personalized, adaptive resistance training (ARX) and traditional moderate-intensity resistance exercise (MI-RE).

Exercise: Men and women - 12 week resistance training program

Results: Percentage body fat and cardiorespiratory fitness (VO2max) improved significantly (p < 0.05) following 12wk resistance training in both groups; however, these improvements were more pronounced (p < 0.05) in the ARX group. Furthermore, similar findings were also observed for changes in weight and waist circumference across the 12wk intervention with both MI-RE and ARX groups showing favorable reductions, with the ARX group exhibiting superior changes.

Bottom line…with an adaptive resistance training program, you can achieve superior changes in approximately ⅓ of the time.

Love the authenticity this guy brings to the fitness industry and to Social and couldn’t agree with him more. Giving up a little of the ego and definition doesn’t make you less healthy and in some ways might make you more healthy. Nothing wrong with either picture so long as you are happy with the lifestyle that gives you the result. I appreciate you !!
