There are numerous symptoms associated with the bird flu that mimic the common flu. Although bird flu is spread through infected poultry and mammals, people can get bird flu through contact with an infected bird. It is recommended for poultry consumers to be weary of undercooked poultry and raw eggs.

The FDA has removed authorization for the use of FD&C Red No. 3 in food and ingested drugs due to potential cancer risks. Manufacturers of food and ingested drugs will have until January 15, 2027 and January 18, 2028 to remove FD&C Red No.3 from products.
