For my latest release I thought I’d detail the four premium leathers that create the shoe entitled "Pank Plebeians". I used natural grain Nappa leather for its character and durability on the quarter panels. Calf hair on the tongue and heel panel to give contrast but still be subtle against the other leathers. I then needed the smoothness of calfskin for the toe cap. I brought in suede for its the feel and look for the lace panels and the complete interior of the shoe. My goal and challenge was to combine multiple textures to a monochromatic composition all while keeping the scheme balanced. And like I’ve said many times before, Balance isn’t something you find. It’s something you have to create 🦍
