Is Coaching Becoming the Modern Hack?
How do we discern if coaching leads to sustainable transformation rather than reinforcing co-dependency patterns? And how can we be sure these "hacks" will have a long-term positive impact on someone's personal and professional lives?
My journey into the coaching industry was driven by three (3) main pillars:
1️⃣ Service
2️⃣ Contribution
3️⃣ Leadership (True leaders will always do the work, and will never tell you to do something they will never do)
To stay true to these, I rely on three simple but profound ingredients:
1️⃣ Humbleness
2️⃣ Curiosity
3️⃣ Work
However, I've observed a troubling trend where the last ingredient is often overlooked in a rush for QUICK FIXES to mental, physical, and emotional discomfort. This approach mistakenly positions coaching as a universal solution to all problems—equivalent to the misapplication of therapy, medication, and alternative medicine.
Professionals and entrepreneurs seeking to navigate feelings of overwhelm, uncertainty, fatigue, and a lack of confidence frequently find themselves at a loss regarding where to start, where to go, whom to reach out to, and what program to follow.
The concepts presented can sometimes seem too abstract or esoteric—a sentiment I understand personally.
We can't expect an overwhelmed individual to suddenly embrace compassion, grace, and acceptance without guidance. Our role as coaches isn't to offer shortcuts (HACKS) but to foster progress and empower clients to envision and work towards a future they previously thought impossible.
It involves guiding them through the process, not 'around' it. Models and frameworks serve as tools and guidance for implementation, not as a lens through which to view the client. Adopting this perspective can entirely overlook an individual's starting point and their current mental, physical, and emotional state."
The essence of coaching isn't found in complex concepts or frameworks but in what resonates with the individual as a whole—taking into account their physical, mental, and emotional readiness, guiding them through their journey, and equipping them with the tools needed for continued growth.
I'm curious to hear (read) 👇 about your biggest challenges, troubles, or difficulties in personal growth, development, or exploration (noting that these ARE distinct areas deserving a separate discussion).
PS. Common "Hacking" language to pay attention to: 'Get rid of,' 'eliminate,' 'remove,' 'eradicate,' and 'erase.'

Is Facebook open to a moment of vulnerability?
I've been contemplating a realignment in my practice, realizing a moment of truth and raw admission is necessary.
Despite engaging with several marketing and business coaches and navigating through a multitude of service statements, love declarations, and niche exercises, I found contradictions.
Exploring how other industry professionals introduce themselves revealed that the issue wasn't my service statements but a more profound commitment to my truth.
My mission is simple:
I dedicate myself to guiding those physically exhausted and mentally depleted people to find who the heck they are so they can take the right next step toward true fulfillment through mental and emotional fitness.
My mission is not about niche strategies but connecting deeply with those seeking genuine transformation.
Conversations with countless entrepreneurs, professionals, and individuals undergoing transitions revealed a common sentiment, expressed by approximately 85% to 92%: "I just want to be me."
Common expressions echoed this sentiment:
🫣 "I just want to know who the heck I am."
🫠 "I want to be myself."
😕 "I just want to be me."
😖 "I don't know who I am."
😳 "I want to know what's next."
😓 "I'm tired of pretending."
🫥 "I just want to be my authentic self."
We have "lost" ourselves, and we didn't notice. We lost ourselves, and now we are desperately trying to find the hack, the protocol, the supplement that will tell us who we are and what we should be doing here.
👉 This pattern reveals a significant identity crisis among individuals aged 40-60 years (+/- 5 years), realizing their current state doesn't align with their aspirations or self-perceptions. Despite being sold a different vision of life, the realization that there's more to experience than our current existence is dawning on us.
It boils down to two simple yet not-so-to-digest realizations:
☝️ Either we dislike who we are; experiencing daily anxiety, fear, and doubt, OR
✌️ We don't know who we are and are eager to change and transform.
Who am I now if I'm no longer_____________ (the parent, employee, manager, daughter, friend, investor, entrepreneur, etc)?
This identity crisis has left many feeling stuck, behind, unworthy, unlovable, and undeserving, far from their "authentic" selves.
Therefore. I decided to stop playing around trying to sound 'sexy' to the market; after all, I consider myself a prudent disruptor. I want to stay true to my values, what I believe, and what I stand for. I want to stay committed to shifting our collective consciousness.
I will leave with this:
"Sometimes we have to audit ourselves to see how change itself has changed us.”
PS.
I'm eager to hear about your journey through role transitions and identity explorations. Vulnerability isn't just welcome; it is invited.

This is what our insatiable obsession to regain or have more ENERGY leads us to...
It often begins with our morning coffee or a caffeinated drink at lunch, perhaps even a yoga nidra session for the holistic enthusiasts.
Notice next time you greet someone with 'How are you?' The typical response these days, in the corporate world and beyond, across generations young and old, is 'I'm tired.'
🤦🏻♀️ There's always a new drink, a new 'mindset hack,' or a new behavioral protocol promising to help us 'regain' the elusive energy we so desperately seek.
But this pursuit often contributes to boredom, a lack of passion and purpose, a sense of drifting, and a desperate need for clarity about our future.
However, what we often crave isn't what we need. It's not an energy deficiency we're battling; it's a depletion of our curiosity.
🛑 Curiosity isn't just a cure for boredom, as Dorothy Parker wisely noted. It allows us to ask questions without the usual emotional baggage attached to everything in our lives.
Our lives are a tug-of-war between wanting a life worth living and settling for a prescribed existence. More often than not, this 'prescription' leads to a life of drifting and surviving rather than steering and thriving.
No wonder we're so tired all the time... No wonder we continue to numb ourselves with thoughts, feelings, and activities that deplete not only our curiosity but also impair our sense of self and our ability to connect with ourselves and others.
How do you reignite your curiosity, you ask? Great question…
The key is to go beyond what you see, hear, feel, think, and do.
Ask yourself:
👉 What do I want to explore that I haven't allowed myself to?
👉 Who do I want to be by the end of 2024, regardless of the challenges?
👉 What identity or aspect am I longing to detach from and finally let go?
Now check with yourself: Are you really tired, exhausted, or just depleted of curiosity?🫣
Drop below 👇how you're eager to explore in 2024, something you have yet to allow yourself to consider before.
Doubts are not welcome here; only forward-thinking...

As the year draws to a close, many of us will inevitably engage in reflective retrospection, pondering the countless things we should or shouldn’t have done.
Yet, amidst this sea of contemplation, we often overlook what we were, did, and acquired—skills or material possessions.
Our tendency to undervalue our achievements and overlook the genuinely significant aspects of life, such as our existence, family, and community, is all too common.
Our minds and bodies, overstimulated and programmed, always race ten thousand miles ahead or linger ten thousand miles behind.
We obsess over discovering our purpose or passion, but we frequently fail to realize that our purpose has always been there. We've just learned to bypass it because it didn't seem right to acknowledge it then or didn't sit "right" with other people (parents, significant other, friends, family, and/or colleagues, etc)
Or often we spend most of our lives seeking approval that we may NEVER GET!
As we approach year-end, I invite you to take 3 minutes (I wouldn’t ask for more, considering the demands of our lives) and listen to your favorite song or melody (no lyrics)...
Notice if you find yourself:
- Cutting the time short
- Avoiding the exercise altogether
- Truly enjoying the moment
- Wondering what the heck did you do that for?
My invitation to you is to observe. No judgments, no stories. No Narratives. You might be surprised by what you discover.
Stay tuned...

Our ‘passions’ will change…
That’s part of living, growing, and learning…
So let’s stop looking for passion…
Our passion(s) will change, morph, and end…
We also spent too much time “trying to find our purpose.”
Purpose is simple… We, however, learned to over complicate it…
Purpose is pursuing, doing, and living what it’ll allow us to pursue our curiosity…💪🏽💜🧠

“Methods are many, concept are few…" 🧭
That wisdom belongs to Dr. Galpin, not me.
However, the profundity of this quote lies in
its relevance to the everyday challenges faced I see
everyday with coaches, educators, mentors, and even organizations. 💡
Numerous pathways can lead to a result or an outcome…
However…
The fundamentals, the bedrock principles, are limited.
This is not just in business or science,
but also in human behavior and interactions. 🌐
We often entwine ourselves in methodologies that,
over time, may stray from their original intent or
NO longer serve our purpose.
Sometimes, we follow methodologies simply
because they were proven to work in specific scenarios. 🔄
I'm NOT suggesting we turn into rebels, and
discarding every established method…
Instead, my focus is on DISCERNMENT…
Recognizing when a particular methodology or approach
NO longer benefits us or those around us. 🤔
The word MASTERY is thrown around too much these days
and what’s it relevance to this???
True MASTERY is achieved
when we can revert to FOUNDATIONAL principles to:
Create something valuable and influential.
It's not about the mechanical repetition of a method…
It's about returning to basic concepts and, within that depth,
discovering another permutation,
another way to unlock human potential. 🗝️
Which foundational principles have we overlooked?
What areas could we revisit, playfully exploring possibilities
AND
unlocking unseen potentials and DARING TO BE? 🚀
Peeps we are back!
Have you ever wonder why
👉🏽 The thoughts,
👉🏽 The feelings,
👉🏽 The emotions,
and even some of the behaviors
you thought you have worked through
Keep coming back
Leaving you wondering 🫣😳🤔…
…
After talking with few people
there seems to be an interest to go
Over the 7 Disruptors of the Inner Self…
…
We will be doing and 8-week series
Starting the last week of June
Where we will be going over what keep us
😳Cycling back
🫣Stuck
🙈"Procastinating"
And
🥸 “Self-Sabotaging”
… FYI this will be an eye opener
not only for us as Coaches,
but also a powerful framework
You can implement IMMEDIATELY with your clients…
Details coming soon!
