I’m so glad I never let peer pressure change how I prepare tax returns.

Too many people want refunds they don’t actually qualify for. That extra money may feel good today, but if those credits can’t be supported, you could end up paying it back with penalties and interest.

I recently had someone contact us for help about a 2023 return that we did NOT prepare. They were hit with a frivolous return penalty for $5000 - not just an audit.

The IRS continues to use more technology and data analysis to identify questionable returns, so taking shortcuts is becoming riskier.

This tax season, be smart. Get every credit you legally qualify for—but don’t chase refunds you haven’t earned. A quick payout isn’t worth years of paying it back.
