We recognize and celebrate May 17 as the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia, and Transphobia — a day to stand united in the fight against fear, hate, and discrimination in all forms.
We imagine a world where no one is punished, policed, or erased because of who they are or who they love.
Too many in our communities — especially Black, Brown, Indigenous, migrant, disabled, and trans people — continue to face violence, rejection, and systemic harm.
We say enough. We are calling for a world rooted in care, not fear.
Zero phobias. Zero hate. Zero excuses.
Let’s build a future where all LGBTQIA+ people can thrive — free, proud, and protected.
The date was chosen to commemorate May 17, 1990, when the World Health Organization officially removed homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases — a historic milestone in the global LGBTQIA+ rights movement.
