BTS info: This entire scene of just over 2 minutes with only a fleeting moment when the door opens to see people in the hall took over 8 hours to complete.

The scene is supposed to be a country motel where the 2 main characters have been forced to share a room. In actuality the set is completely housed in a huge sound stage with probably 20 other sets to be used in this and other episodes. The nice thing about this type of set is it isolates any noise from the outside and personally my favorite.... It's air conditioned. The catering company on Will Trent had very good food and a delicious flan for desert.... If you had time to eat it😊
By the way I'm looking into the room center of the three in frame. Because I was concentrating on our schtick of hunters/sportsman returning from a day out I didn't even notice the camera... We walked past the open door possibly 30 times with the crew and camera inside and outside the pseudo motel room.

Now here is the crazy part. We did one rehearsal with masks ON. The next 8 hours of "takes" were masks off. So what take do they use..... SMH 🫣

I think this was about day 3 of a total of 7 that I worked this movie. I worked next to ED Harris, at this location as well as Vincent D'Onofrio, James Franco, Selena Gomez and several other famous actors. It's too bad we never got the whistle correct enough to use our real audio.

* On a tragic side note a crew member was struck and killed by a train just a few days prior to this photo not far from where this photo was taken.

NOTES FROM: In Dubious Battle

In my very first gig "In dubious Battle" I found myself positioned on the front porch of a pickers shack. The setting was that we had just finished in the apple orchards and we're kind of relaxing before the next scene picked up with the leads carrying on a conversation. We practiced a time or two and I came up with the idea that I had stolen one of the apples and was just seriously contemplating what I should do with that apple. I could feel the camera slowly circling me with that apple tightly gripped in my hand and me with the look of guilt for stealing it, would I or could I bring myself to eat that forbidden fruit... Then the leads decided to use an apple as well, but they tossed it about with a reckless abandon as if to say "See what I got away with and voraciously chomped into the fruit that if a boss had seen any one of us with the apple would have fired us on the spot for stealing from the company.
