Are you a regular coffee drinker? Do you always have that morning caffeine kick or do you just enjoy a cup every now and then? Whatever your preference, we’re excited to invite you to Science Gallery Atlanta to learn more about this centuries-old beverage that’s consumed all over the world!
On Saturday, September 3rd from 10am - 12pm, we invite you to experience the “Cost of Coffee” in partnership with . This temporary installation and craft coffee tasting experience examines coffee through the filter of mental health, addiction, ethics, and the literal costs of the coffee industry. This is a free experience and is presented as part of the programming for our inaugural exhibition, HOOKED: When Want Becomes Need.
All humans seek pleasure, whether through food, drugs, experiences, or even other people. Part of this desire is driven internally, from our own desires. But some of it stems from external sources, such as our friends, family, and communities. Indeed, there are many paths to addiction. But by checking out the “HOOKED: when want becomes need” exhibit at , you can explore artists’ and researchers’ interpretations of of addiction, and how it both shapes and is shaped by us.
