Atlanta, 2026.
Some days the city rewards you just for showing up.
I knew I needed to get back into the streets.
I’ve been spending most of my time working on Part I of a three part body of work I’m building for my next exhibition and book.
Trying to stay focused. Trying to stay disciplined. Trying to make something that feels honest.
But everyday life has a way of pulling you away from the city.
I kept telling myself I would get out soon.
Excuses… maybe.
Or just the reality of trying to balance vision and responsibility.
Today I finally had a few hours.
I debated going to the BeltLine…
but downtown has always been more my speed. Even when it’s slow. Even when nothing seems to be happening.
Because when downtown is alive… you want to already be there or at least I do.
Rain. Grey skies.
People scattered through the city like unfinished sentences.
I was out with my homie Keith and I told him,
“All I need is one image and I’m going home.”
Maybe ten minutes later… we heard engines.
A side street filled with motorcycles.
We were above them on a bridge.
No way to get down in time… not before the police showed up..
So I documented what I could from where I stood.
And somehow…
I literally got what I asked for.
Sometimes the work is just showing up.
Sometimes the city gives you exactly what you need.
This is part of an ongoing body of work documenting Atlanta.
today.
