Check out this rising TJFACT star that received a scholarship in 2022 and interns with us currently: Annie Dmitrieff. Annie is a gap-year student who will major in mathematics at Georgia Tech. She currently works part-time as a mathematics tutor and volunteers at the non-profit organization People's Action, a phone- and text-banking group which advocates for programs such as "Housing Justice for All" and "People and Planet First." Annie also volunteers at 7 Cups of Tea, an emotional support helpline, specializing in guiding individuals with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and eating disorders. In addition, she has collaborated with Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's organization and field directors, creating a campaigning team to phone- and text-bank for democratic candidates during the 2020 Senate Runoff elections, promoting local non-profit organizations and educators nationally.

Though primarily interested in mathematics, Annie also has a passion for psychology, placing 2nd in state and qualifying for a national Behavioral Health competition through HOSA ("Health Occupations Students of America"). She additionally works as a graphic designer and illustrator in her free time. In 2019, she placed 2nd at the Othell's Art Fall Gallery and donated a portion of her proceeds to various organizations including People's Action and Black Lives Matter.

In the future, Annie hopes to continue studying mathematics in graduate school, focusing on a career in risk management or academia. Annie’s hobbies include knitting clothes for her friends and family and spend time in nature.
