Tuesday stinks! (Literally!) Not just this Tuesday, but every Tuesday. You see, Tuesday is "Trash Day" in my neighborhood. On my Tuesday morning walks, I'm joined by "bin pals," filled with things no one wants - or needs to keep around. Discarded paper, used containers, smelly foods, mangled boxes, and more are dumped into trash and recycling bins. Needless to say, the morning air hits a little different! But here's what I noticed today - when I start my 2+ mile walk, the bins are full. When returning on route back home, the bins were empty. Not because they emptied themselves, but the trash truck took away the waste.
This reminded me of how we can build up so much mental "trash" that we keep recycling through our minds. What someone did, said, or didn't do or didn't say. What - y o u - did, said, or didn't do or didn't say. And over time ⏰️ - it begins to stink through rotten words, bad thoughts, and poor actions towards ourselves and others.
Isaiah 43:18 [ESV] says, "Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old." Dwelling on old thoughts, mistakes, decisions, and failures can literally rot your mindset and ability to move forward fresh! Be encouraged by this example that you can throw out the trash - both literally and figuratively. 🚮 Reclaim a recycled mind for the good that is to come. 💚

"Deploying empathy to the impacted and the influential." - ABR
A lot happens in the life of someone experiencing crisis or hardship. In my role as an emergency assistance program lead at Chick-fil-A, empathy is essential in meeting the needs of impacted individuals and helping communicate those needs to donors and others in influential roles.
It was an honor to share the stage and moderate a panel conversation about fundraising for non-profits at the Chick-fil-A + Plywood People Impact Accelerator Conference with Dee Dixon, MBA of the American Red Cross , Hollis Hughes of the National Park Foundation , and Col. (Ret.) Nick Nichols of Folds of Honor . Each of these leaders shared invaluable knowledge and practical applications to the hundreds of non-profit leaders in attendance. Attendees left this two-day event equipped, empowered, and energized to propel their missions forward.
Special recognition to the entire Global Impact Team for the flawless event ex*****on, and a special applause to my colleague, Angelyn (Ying-Jou) Liu for her tireless efforts in bringing this vision to life year after year!
