Read for a free project plan + more details 👇 AD: If you want to cover up the layered plywood edge, there are three main methods we use: 1. Edge banding! This is the method we use the most and will give you that solid wood look. Iron-on edge banding stains and paints just like the rest of the plywood - just make sure to get the same wood species as your plywood! 2. Spackle or wood filler - use this method ONLY if you’re planning to paint. Press the spackle into the plywood edge and then sand off the excess. @mccorry.us has a very solid core, so there aren’t really big voids to fill like there can be on a lot of other plywoods, but I still find the spackle on the edge to be helpful for getting the most seamless and smooth finish. 3. Nail something to the edge! We love using 1x2s to give the plywood a thicker look or shelf edge trim for a more detailed look. Ready to tackle your next DIY project?
