Sleep is one of the most important things we can do for our health along with diet and exercise. Our bodies go through detoxification and regeneration at night. During sleep, our brain releases growth hormone which stimulates tissue repair. Not getting adequate sleep disrupts our bodies ability to detoxify and repair. Simply put, lack of sleep causes you to age faster and puts you at risk for several major diseases.
Try to turn off your screens at least an hour before your planning to sleep. The light that emits from those devices stimulates your brain and disrupts your ability to fall asleep. Try meditating or reading for a while before sleep to calm your mind.
