News but not really. For decades research has shown that low income and low performing communities have the LOWEST performance outcomes in reading. When tracking growth, data shows shows that even Asian, Native American, and the Hispanic population have better growth gains than African American students over time. Working in low performing schools exposed me to how funds are not properly allocated, resources are not plentiful, and the type of SUPPORT teachers need often IS NOT provided. With this, I will add that there are some cultural/generational factors that contribute BUT what are WE doing to combat that?
READING IS THE FOUNDATION TO ALL ACADEMIC SUCCESS‼️ It is a cause that deserves to be CHAMPIONED! Righteously so.
