So I didn't mean to break the internet with my last post. 🙈🤣

While I appreciate all of the texts and support, I never once considered sharing my decision to get treatment for depression "brave."

After all, what is "brave" about doing something that so many are doing? It was the conversations with people in my circle that made me realize how normal and common it is to get help when you're not feeling you're best.

Me being considered "brave" must be because despite so many people seeing a therapist or taking medication, few people are actually talking about it. I hope that my decision to share helps change that, especially among Black and Brown women.

I hope these pics of me looking "normal"
but still struggling with energy levels and tough feelings help other women realize that constant heaviness and sadness should not be your baseline and norm.
I hope this post is evidence that "depression" does not mean crazy or suicidal.
I hope this post is some positive peer pressure to and get help.
You matter and you're worthy and you deserve to be healthy mentally, emotionally and physically.

PS: this hairstyle was one of my attempts at "changing myself." Because I felt like I couldn't control my energy or my emotions and was desperate for a "change," I took it out on my hair. This rod set was kinda cute but way too much work for me 🤣

Exactly one year ago today, on a very frigid day in Atlanta, I spent my birthday on my first golf lesson with the best golf coach EVER .

Today Im in Punta Cana with custom clubs. While my game is definitely a work in progress (tequila helps!), Im so proud of myself for the work I've put in to get here.

In these 365 days, golf has opened so many doors for me: new trips, business opportunities and friends (shout out to & )

It's also opened me up to learning a lot about myself (acceptance, patience and dedication to name a few).

Whatever "hobby" you've been meaning to start, take this is a sign to start it today. You're worthy of fun.
