Happy Founders Day from Tom Mathis Sr. Council PTA!
Today we celebrate the founding of the PTA and honor the vision of those who came together years ago to support children, families, and schools. While so much has changed over time — from classrooms to technology to the way we communicate — one thing has remained the same: the importance of advocacy for every child.
From the very beginning, PTA has been a voice for students, working to ensure they have the resources, opportunities, and support they need to succeed. That mission still guides us today. Whether we are supporting our schools, partnering with families, or speaking up for what’s best for students, advocacy continues to be at the heart of all we do.
Thank you to every volunteer, member, and supporter who carries this legacy forward. Together, we are making a difference — just as our founders intended.
🌟 Founders’ Day - February 17, 1897 🌟
On this day we celebrate the legacy and work of our founders Alice McLellan Birney, Phoebe Apperson Hearst and Selena Soloan Butler to better the lives of every child in education, health, and safety.
It is a time to reflect and take pride in our achievements and renew our commitment to advocate for children and youth.💙
