We aren’t often able to all work together in person. Let’s face it — we’re scattered all over the place! Our team is based in places from Atlanta to Chicago, or temporarily Argentina, and then sometimes one of our managing editors flies to see family in the UK… You’d think it might be hard to keep everyone on the same page. (Pun intended!)
The truth is that we excel at this asynchronous thing — we *have* been doing it since the pandemic — and we love the ways it allows us to explore the world, feed our lives outside work, and still show up for each other and the jobs we love.
But it is nice to be able to sit down at a table together sometimes and get down to business, fueled by coffee and pastries.

If you're always searching for the "right" file or have tons of duplicates, read our blog post about file versioning and how it'll save you from future headaches.

When I started writing my first (and still back-burner WIP) novel, I followed the formatting guidelines I’d been taught: 1” margins, size 12 Times New Roman, a cover page, etc. But there are much easier and more beneficial ways to style your manuscript beyond font and margins. Formatting guidelines are often somewhat vague to allow some variance, but most also seem a little antiquated – stuck in a past when we were leafing through physical pages rather than just scrolling on a laptop.

D’Aulnoy published twelve books, but where other fairy tale writers like Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm became household names, d’Aulnoy seems all but forgotten in the mainstream. Today her collected works are rarely published in new English-language editions, but rather in mixed anthologies.
