On the anniversary of James Baldwin's 100th birthday, I had the honor of listening to a conversation between Charles Stephen's of CNP () and the phenom Kimberly Jones (). Just to be in the room was a privilege and a call to arms. Thank you Dr. Ed Garnes for the invitation. In addition, they announced the CNP at Ten award nominees. My brother, Mr. Sweet Ethics himself will be getting the CNP Ally award. To know Ed, is to know his love of words and Black people in all forms. His passion for Black Men and their mental health is unmatched. His allyship is as authentic as Sweet Tea in the summertime. He has always been the People's Champ. We went on a journey to be more self-aware and learned that we needed to not only be emotionally intelligent but spiritually and relationally intelligent as well.
