We remember. We don’t forget. Never again.
Yom HaShoah, also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day, begins tonight (Monday 4/13) and ends at sundown tomorrow (Tuesday 4/14).
Â
Yom HaShoah is a solemn day of commemoration for the six million Jews who were murdered during the Holocaust by N**i Germany and its collaborators. It is a day dedicated to remembering the victims, honoring the survivors, and reaffirming the commitment to never forget the atrocities of the Shoah (“Shoah” meaning “catastrophe, devastation or destruction” in Hebrew).
Â
The day often includes memorial ceremonies, the lighting of memorial candles, educational programs, and the recitation of names of those who perished. Yom HaShoah serves not only as a tribute to the lives lost but also as a reminder of the dangers of hatred, bigotry, and indifference. It is a call to ensure that future generations understand the Holocaust’s lessons and uphold the values of human dignity and tolerance.
