Georgia’s Good Samaritan Law is meant to encourage people to help in emergencies without being afraid of getting sued.

• If you try to help someone in an emergency, like giving first aid or calling for help,
• and you’re acting in good faith (you genuinely want to help),
• you usually can’t be sued if something goes wrong.

What it protects ⬇️

• Helping at the scene of an accident (CPR, stopping bleeding, etc.)
• Assisting someone who is injured or in danger
• Calling 911 and staying to help

What it doesn’t protect ⬇️

• If you act recklessly or carelessly (like doing something obviously dangerous)
• If you expect payment for helping (it’s mainly for volunteers, not professionals being paid)
• If you intentionally cause harm
