I came for the Jam Session, Stayed for the art!

Every Wednesday, I go to this art gallery in Atlanta, where they host jam sessions. It’s a thriving Black artist community that I’ve watched grow over time. This place has given me mentors, helped me develop as an artist, and strangely enough, being around painters has renewed my creativity! I got so inspired that I started drawing again. This piece is called Our Friend Martin, based on the animated film many of us in ATL grew up watching about Martin Luther King Jr. I couldn’t stop staring at it! The last time I saw something this captivating was a Frida Kahlo piece. Shoutout to for the amazing work!

Getting to know Atlanta before making the journey across the Country to LA. Ive been going to Open Mics, Artist events, and even MJQ 3-5 times a week! And let me tell you! There’s a whole lot of beautiful art to see across Atlanta. I’m glad to be a part of the Black Art Community here!
