On this day one year ago, I broke my fibula! 🦴🩻👎🏻
I’d been working on this illustration beforehand as just a positive note to self… which took on new meaning when I broke my leg… and which has a whole new meaning a year later, as I approach 4 weeks postpartum.
Bodies are incredible, postpartum is a baffling mix of grief and joy, and becoming a mom has left me feeling the most “me” I’ve ever been.
Despite what this illustration says, I don’t plan to ever be totally “back” to the way I was before Felix—and I think that’s how it’s meant to be 🥰 I wouldn’t trade this transformative time and my new role in life for anything.
Life is magical and strange! I’m enjoying it ☀️🥰💚
