Navigating Through Quicksand

If you want to learn about a team…look at their dugout, sideline, bench and the consistent intentional decisions they make regardless of the scoreboard. Look at what they are focused on…what are their eyes locked in on…distractions or the results they are working toward attaining TOGETHER. Does their energy get low when pressure is applied or do they stand taller and stronger.

Are they all engaged…are they encouraging each other…what type of energy can you feel…what is their body language saying…win or lose a team that is present creates a presence…a team that authentically and consistently shows up for and challenges themselves and each other to hold the standards set not only as a student-athlete but as a person…that is a team always learning through every experience…not because they have to…but because they choose to.

Bonds don’t just happen they are intentionally created during every moment you put in the effort to connect…to notice…acknowledge…pick up…and believe in yourself and your teammates✨

Don’t wait for someone else to clean it up…handle it…fix it with a smile…every time. If there’s a problem…find a solution…if there’s a challenge…embrace it as an opportunity…keep it simple✨
