How to Plan for Anything (Really): Solutions for Unexpected Changes

Brief Overview: Uncertainty happens! Many organizations have been in a situation where they felt unprepared and were unsure how to adapt or adjust quickly to something new. Funding cuts, tragedy in your community, or news that changes quickly. This session will cover adaptation principles and specific strategies such as contingency planning. Participants will learn to apply the contingency planning process to adjust programs, budgets or mindsets, and they will learn from each other.

Agency teams are strongly encouraged to attend to get the most from the session, and to have their own challenge to work with during the sessions.

Audience: This is an Advanced Level training and is designed for people who are able to help make change at their agency to help them design a plan for their specific needs.

Trainer: Dr. Francis Eberle

Leadership & Organizational Advisor

Francis Eberle, PhD, is leadership and organizational advisor, speaker and author. Francis believes that people development is business development. He helps leaders who want to grow in both public and private social enterprises, especially those who want to do something special.

After spending more than 25 years as an executive for non-profits and start-ups, Francis is uniquely positioned to help organizations collaborate and identify opportunity. He has successfully partnered with leaders and teams to improve their skills, solve complex problems, conduct research, grow financial and programmatic resources, and engage partners to work together toward common goals. He offers individual coaching, team development, and analytics for organizational performance improvement. He is also a facilitator and coach for The Complete Leader Program.

Continuing Education

Upon successful participation of the training, a certificate will be emailed to participants.

GENERAL: This program constitutes (up to) 4.5 hours of training through ADEPT Educational Institute of Maine, Inc. This training is pre-approved by the Maine Prevention Certification Board and meets the requirements for Prevention Specialist Certification in Maine. (Up to) 4.5 hours of training for Certified Prevention Specialists: ATOD and IC&RC Prevention Performance Domains: 6

ADEPT Educational Institute is a recognized sponsor of continuing education activity by the Maine State Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors. (Up to) 4.5 Credit Hours (0.45 CEUs)

ADEPT Educational Institute is a National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) approved education provider. Provider #62201 (up to) with 4.5 Hours of Continuing EducationSocial Workers: The Board of Social Workers Licensure does not pre-approve continuing education. Retain a copy of certificate issued and training agenda to provide to the Maine State Board of Social Workers. Provision of these two documents is necessary for the Board of Social Workers to issue continuing education credit.

Licensed Counselors: The Maine State Board of Counseling Professionals does not pre-approve continuing education. Retain a copy of certificate issued and training agenda to provide to the Maine State Board of Counseling Professionals.
