Every Mother’s Day, my husband asks me what I’d like to do and I usually come up with a crazy adventure 😆🤣 so this year was no different! I really wanted to take our girls on another bikepacking trip and this was our first time on the Katy Trail.

For reference our daughters during this trip were ages: 8yo, 7yo, 4yo, 2yo and 2 months.

🚲Kids’ Bikes: Our girls all have bikes. These bikes are amazing quality and built for kids. They are the perfect balance bikes and they are not too heavy. My girls have learned to balance on these before adding pedals. It is honestly so seamless and we are obsessed with this company. I have another reel coming soon on these bikes!

🚲My Bike: If you have been following my page for awhile, you know this bike is my new personality, ha! Our Bunch Bike is an electric cargo bike and we love this. We tried out our new Moskins trailer, which made it so easy to transport my Bunch to the trailhead. This will for sure be a game changer for us!! My Bunch made it possible to transport all of our camping gear to Klondike! 🙌

🚲Our Route: We parked at the Weldon Spring Trailhead (38.660143, -90.744159 ) and biked along the Katy Trail to Klondike Park, where we camped for the night. We biked 3 miles from Weldon Springs to the Good News Brewery, 3 miles to Louie’s on the Trail (sunflower silos) and then another 2 miles to Klondike Park.

🏕️Where we camped: We camped at Klondike Park at their tent campsite #3. It was right next to the pavilion, which was so nice. There was no electricity, but the water was turned on at the pump and bathrooms were a close walk away.

🤱 Baby Logistics: My MIL met us at the trailhead and drove Tess in her car to meet us. The route was a little bumpy and Tess can’t wear a helmet yet, so I was so thankful for this option! For our way back, my MIL helped us pick up our van. Mark drove Tess, while I biked with the older girls back. We were worried it was going to rain, so we loaded our gear in the van too.

Overall, we biked 18 miles roundtrip. This was such a fun family-friendly experience and we had a blast!

🐋The Blue Whale Story opens this Saturday, 5/23 and continues into January 2027. We saw a sneak peek today and we absolutely loved it!!

➡️Walk through a full-scale model of a blue whale jaw!
➡️See the world’s only full-scale blue whale heart model.
➡️Check out the display on whale evolution as well.
➡️We loved seeing the size comparisons of a whale brain, blow hole and seeing a whale tracker up close.

Definitely check out this awesome new exhibit. It is amazing! 🙌 We can’t wait to visit again!!
