Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility.

Everyone deserves dignity, respect, and the freedom to live authentically, and today is a day to uplift the voices and experiences of transgender and nonbinary people and to reaffirm that everyone deserves equal protection under the law.

Today is Equal Pay Day.

On average, women in the United States must work months into the new year to earn what men earned the year before. In Maine, women earn about 86% of what men earn.

Closing the wage gap is part of building a stronger and more fair economy for everyone.
