Rock icon Jimi Hendrix's only Maine appearance was on March 16, 1968. Billed with Soft Machine (who failed to show up), other acts included The Hanseatic League, and the Lewiston band, Terry and The Telstars. Of the concert, the Lewiston Times reported Hendrix's, "intense volume coupled with the very real talent for the guitar produced the best psychedelic performance Lewiston has recently seen."
