Fosters needed!
Update: we think we have it covered as so many of our amazing supporters are offering to help!! You have no idea how much your support means to us right now.
🚨 We Need Help. Right Now. 🚨
Some days in rescue are harder than others.
Today is one of those days.
Due to a statewide lockdown at the prison where our Pups in the Pen program is located, all of our dogs must be removed from the facility until the lockdown is lifted.
As you can imagine, this has left us scrambling.
The dogs don't understand why their routine has suddenly changed. The handlers don't understand why they have to say goodbye to the dogs they care for every day. And our team is desperately trying to find safe places for everyone to land.
Right now, we have managed to secure foster placements for all but two dogs.
Finn needs a foster home.
We also have a female French Bulldog who needs a foster home.
Time is not on our side, and we simply don't have enough open foster homes available.
For the men in this program, these aren't just dogs.
They are companions. They are purpose. They are the reason some men get out of bed on difficult days. They are a reminder that trust can be rebuilt, that second chances exist, and that love can still find you in unexpected places.
Tonight there are handlers wondering where "their" dogs will sleep. Dogs who won't understand why the people they trust aren't there. And a rescue team desperately trying to make sure nobody falls through the cracks.
This situation is beyond anyone's control.
But what happens next is not.
Somewhere out there are two homes with an empty dog bed, an empty spot on the couch, or a family willing to open their heart for a little while.
Maybe that home is yours.
If you have ever considered fostering, please reach out today. We will provide guidance and support every step of the way.
Because tonight, two dogs are still waiting for a place to go.
And if there's one thing we've learned through this rescue journey, it's that hope often arrives in the form of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Please help us bring Finn and his Frenchie friend safely home.
"In a world where you can be anything, be the reason someone still believes in second chances." ❤️🐾

Up Fur Adoption: Raven is a 3.5 year old Labrador/staffy mix, and she is approximately 45 lbs. Raven was found as a stray and not claimed. When found she was severely emaciated. Despite her condition, she was sweet and wanted to give her foster lots of kisses.
She is good with other dogs, but not sure about cats. When she has been on a leash she has done well. Raven has taken a couple car rides and has not gotten car sick at all. She loves toys, treats, and playing in her pool. Raven is sweet as can be, but still has that puppy attention span. She knows “sit”, working on “down” and “off”. Raven comes fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped.

🚨 DOLLY NEEDS OUR HELP TO REACH HER FOREVER HOME! 🚨
Meet Dolly. This resilient, sweet girl was transferred to Hands to Paws from a smaller rescue further south, looking for a second chance at life. She came to us heartworm positive, and while her amazing foster mom, Eva Ward, has been taking wonderful care of her on the "slow kill" treatment method, Dolly’s recent retest brought a mix of news.
The great news? There are no more microfilaria (baby heartworms) in her system! 🙌
The tough news? The adult heartworms are still there, and we need to pivot to the fast-acting treatment ASAP.
🏡 The Stakes are High!
Dolly has an adopter lined up and a trial adoption stay scheduled for June! But before she can officially start her happily-ever-after, we have to get this treatment underway.
Dolly’s treatment will cost between $850 and $1,000. Our rescue funds are significantly low right now. We have applied for a grant through the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation, but grants are never guaranteed, rarely cover the full cost, and are only awarded monthly—and Dolly simply cannot wait.
🩺 Her Two-Step Battle Plan:
Part 1: Chest X-rays, a full panel of bloodwork, and starting her on Doxycycline.
Part 2: The heavy-hitting injections (which require a 3-day stay at the vet for close monitoring) and Prednisone.
Dolly has fought so hard to get this close to a family of her own. We just need to clear this final medical hurdle for her. Can you help us get Dolly healthy for her new life? Every single dollar counts!
