We are excited to announce the winning recipient of the 2nd annual, Phillip Rieckert “Backhand Dropshot” Award : Malachi Gordon (Augusta, Ga - Aquinas, H.S.) Malachi will be celebrated at a private reception, August 7th, 2023 in Augusta. All applicants for the scholarship
award are required to submit an essay accompanied with a quote they feel encapsulates their high school experience and overall growth. Malachi selected the following quote by A.A. Milne: “ You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
Malachi will attend Presbyterian College (Clinton, SC) this fall as a Business Management major, and plans to play football for the Blue Hose.
Congratulations, Malachi!!!

We are excited to announce first award recipients for the Phillip Rieckert "Backhand Dropshot" Memorial Award: Lauren Alley (Randolph HS, Randolph, NJ) will be attending Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, NJ) and Aubrey David (Grovetown HS, Grovetown, GA) will be attending the University of Georgia (Athens, GA) this fall. We are pleased to announce applications for the Phillip Rieckert "Backhand Dropshot" Memorial will open March 15th. We are thankful for organizations and restaurants who have graciously donated items to auction off starting next week to benefit the Memorial. Stay tuned for more details!
The award will be dedicated to graduating student-athlete seniors in the Central Savannah River Area who have demonstrated exemplary leadership skill through their sport or community.
