Twin Disc Oilfield TA90-8501 Transmission Carrier Repair
This carrier came in with 4 destroyed pinion pads. The transmission failure caused the pinion gears to gouge the pads that the washers sit on. This job cost the customer a little under $1,000. We don't know the price of a new carrier, but easily $5K-$10 is a good guess. Here are some before repair photos. The repair is in process. This is a standard repair for us which we have done many times.

As far as we can tell, there are no aftermarket parts available for the Twin Disc T90-8501 transmission and 8-FLW-2302 torque converter used in frac rigs. Is anyone aware of aftermarket options to OEM parts?

We remanufacture and repair some of the hard parts. It could be that when these transmissions fail, they don't destroy parts like other transmission failures do. Our repairs on Twin Disc parts run from a couple hundred to less than $1,000 on the high end. These are on parts that sometimes cost $5,000 new from Twin Disc.

We'd love to hear if anyone knows of an aftermarket source for these transmissions and torque converters. We'd also be interested to hear what major parts have failed in TA90-8501 transmissions you have owned or had to rebuild.
