If you have any crafting or artistic bone in your body, you have been presented with this situation before:

Somehow, there is a lot of available crafting or building material, free to a good home. And you have no immediate need for it. But boy howdy you just want it. For who knows what.

Recently, we have been presented with a woodworkers project of a lifetime - getting to hand craft multiple pieces of furniture and art out of the materials from a historic tree that succumbed to natural causes and old age.

The interesting part was that there was SO much wood from this massive piece of history, that a lot of extra slabs were available if the Outer Woods shop had a home for them.

Objectively….we don’t have space, but we could not pass up the opportunity to hold on to this historic Austin, TX material.

We will keep you informed on the commissioned pieces we are building with it, but more importantly we want to find other businesses, art galleries, restaurants, shop owners, homeowners, and buildings in the Austin, central Texas, or greater Texas area that would appreciate a hand crafted piece of art or furniture from a historic tree that stood tall in downtown Austin for over a century.
