i’ve been keeping a secret…
applegate.photography just expanded into nyc!!!!!!!!!!!!

and before you freak out, yes i’m still shooting in texas :) allow me to explain:

a little know fact about me is that my family has a tradition when we turn 12. at twelve, you get to pick anywhere in the continental u.s. to go alone with your parent. as one of four kids, alone time with our mom/dad was huge. being the oldest? an even bigger deal.

anyways, i couldn’t tell you why, but i chose nyc for my 12 year trip. and ever since, i knew i wanted to move here. it was always my post grad plan.

until photography in texas took off. how could i ever leave the people (YOU!!!) or place that built my dream — my career — from the ground up? and more practically, how could my location-based business ever relocate when my clientele was very much *not* in nyc?

so i let my dream of moving quietly flit to the back of my mind. a dream slowly drifting. a ‘maybe someday’.

until life woke me up and reminded me that ‘someday’ is never guaranteed.

so i made my own way. and now we’re here. in nyc!!!!!! 12 years later, to the dot, from picking where to go for that pivotal trip. and i’d like to think 12 year old gracyn would be really, really proud

i’m a broken record at this point, but none of this would be possible without each and every one of you. i’m fulfilling my dreams on so many levels thanks to YOUR trust, support, and belief in me — and i’ll spend the rest of my career trying to repay you for it.
