When your mom is the customer and says, "Just put drywall on it and tape and float it. I'll paint it later." But then this happens...

This disposal and dishwasher was "installed" by a big box store. It was leaking and the dishwasher was giving a flooding error. Here's what was wrong:

1. The dishwasher knockout wasn't knocked out. Disposals come with these if the home doesn't have a dishwasher. It's very easy to punch out with a screwdriver. But if the home does have a dishwasher and is not knocked out the dishwasher will not be able to drain it's water. Which is what happened here. We knocked out the knock out and the dishwasher started working again.

2. The whole plumbing solution for the disposal is wrong. If you've ever looked at the plumbing under your sink you can see that this is almost all the way backwards and the improper fittings were used. We purchased a disposal installation kit from HD and installed it and that solved the leaking issue.
