Sending all of our love and [BIGGEST] CONGRATULATIONS, to one of our favorites… the one and only, Ms. Ava Duvernay! We stan Ms. Duvernay for her election to represent the Director’s Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for its board of governors. This is an amazing fleet because it’s part of a historic wave for women and people of color being represented by the Academy Awards. Out of the 54-person board, 26 are women and 12 are people of color. What do we say to that? Ms. Ava, and She is IT! She truly inspires us everyday and leaves us in awe. •

To Ms. Ava… thank you for giving us: 13th, When They See Us, A Wrinkle In Time, Queen Sugar, Selma, Jay Z: Family Feud ft. Beyonce, and so much more!! We feel the passion, follow the voices, and see the beautifully crafted vision in everything you create. Thank you for amplifying black and brown voices. Here at She Got It Productions, we truly believe Ms. Ava embodies everything “SHE” is. Thank you for shaping and humanizing us in the media. Thank you for always breaking barriers and creating platforms for women, like me, to exist. We love you. We applaud you. We salute you. •

& To ALL of our female filmmakers, directors, producers, writers, cinematographers... DON’T give up because you never know where you will end. So go write that script, go shoot that pilot, go direct a scene. It doesn’t matter if you are creating on an iPhone or a DSLR. The world deserves and NEEDS to see and feel our voices. We are with you. Keep going. Keep creating. We will see you at The Academy soon.

As storytellers, we have the power to transpire. We craft untold and new stories. We shape the imagination. Our goal and mission is to create, build community, provide opportunity and support all women. All the damn time.

Just to name a few of the accolades we will achieve with our stories and productions. We know this because all that you are and aspire to be is already written. It is written in your name, your destiny and your purpose. Faith without work is dead. So have faith in the visions you see and feel because they were given to you for a reason.
