I love and appreciate every customer who chooses to spend their hard-earned money with us. With that said, I wanted to share a little reminder about shopping with your local farmer:

We kindly ask that you don’t haggle over our prices.

Unlike big-box stores that purchase products in massive quantities, we raise, grow, harvest, process, package, label, haul, and sell everything ourselves. That often comes after months of work, rising feed costs, equipment repairs, weather challenges, unexpected losses, and many long days.

Our prices reflect the real cost of producing quality food and keeping a small farm running.

Most farmers do their best to price their products fairly so local families can enjoy them. When we’re asked to lower those prices, it can be difficult because it usually means absorbing that loss ourselves.

That doesn’t mean there won’t be opportunities to save. When we’re overstocked, we may offer specials, bulk pricing, or discounts on blemished and imperfect produce. Those are the times you can expect a bargain.

As for our meats, especially our pastured chicken, you may not realize it by looking at the price—but our profit margin is actually very small. Feed, processing, packaging, and raising the birds properly add up quickly.
