We promote the Midwives Model of Care as a valuable birth option that should be available wherever women choose to birth, both inside and outside the hospital.

There’s a renewed push in Congress for Medicaid to cover doulas and midwives The Mamas First Act, introduced by Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Gwen Moore, would make the pregnancy and postpartum services from doulas and midwives reimbursable in an effort to improve access to care.
